Having made silver jewellery for several years I started experimenting with silver in resin as well as starting painting again. After a trip to Ai tu tuki where the colours are magnificent I was inspired to look for a way to recreate the beauty of the turquoises, jades and sapphires in the sea and sky. The colours and translucence of mica pigments are stunning and the need to let resin do its own thing brings the element of surprise.
