Sam Tyson

“My goal this year has been to live life as an artist.” So that’s what I’m doing. Up until recently, I’d been painting on and off in my garage — now I have a specially built art studio, a space that reflects how seriously I’m taking this journey. I’ve also embarked on a year-long portrait project, Let’s Face It 2025. I’m drawn to faces — the emotion, the complexity, the stories they hold. Working mainly in oils, I aim to capture the authentic expression and individuality of people. This is my first time in the Taranaki Arts Trail, and I’m excited to share what I’ve been creating.
