Painting

851 South Road, Omata 4374, New Zealand

My work explores morphing animals by gradually changing them from one thing to another - through merging segments, they become one. Some would say the stitching gives the feeling as though they could have been stitched by Dr. Frankenstein. Making these works I have full control of turning them into the craziest, funniest, creepiest and weirdest beings. I sometimes wish and dream about seeing my creatures out in the environment. I also wonder what these creatures sound like, how they walk, swim or fly, what do they eat? These new animals must then learn how to survive, through new movements, sounds and habits. Where do these creatures live? Do they swim/walk or fly? What do they eat? All these questions and ideas are not only for me but they are for my viewers. I encourage the viewers to consider these thoughts when viewing my works. let the imaginations take over.
