Margaret Scott

Margaret has been painting, selling her work and teaching art in Taranaki for the last 45 years. She was HOD of Art at Opunake High School for 10years and since moving to Oakura has run adult and extension classes for students. She also mentors emerging artists and gives talks to interested community groups and schools.
Margaret has produced many commissioned works and is the designer of the Jason Products Placemats the ‘Sea Bounty’ series. In 2015 she wrote and produced her own book ‘Self Portrait of a Paua’ and in 2017 had a retrospective exhibition at Percy Tomson Gallery in Taranaki showcasing over 70 works which covered 50 years of her painting career.
She has had 17 solo exhibitions in Taranaki and exhibited widely throughout New Zealand.
She has been involved in group showings in England, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Melbourne.
