Howard Tuffery
27 Pukearuhe Road, Mimi 4377, New Zealand
A highly experienced sculptor, I use local materials and honour the craft traditions of working wood and stone. I think of sculpture as an expression of my surroundings, a view of the land as living and moving with all things in nature. I'm interested in the shapes, texture and patterns of our volcanic landscape. Also our connection to the land and the need to care for, restore and protect important natural and cultural sites.
