Amy Brennan

Amy Brennan is a ceramic artist based in New Plymouth. She earned a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication-Illustration from Massey University in Wellington before spending over 15 years working in the Wellington film industry. In 2019, she returned to her home in Taranaki to focus on her own artistic practice. Amy's work blends distinctive hand-building techniques with a painterly approach to surface decoration, resulting in whimsical, playful, and vibrantly expressive characters designed for both wall hanging and free-standing display. Amy draws inspiration from children’s book illustration, pop culture, and flowers, thoughtfully crafting each piece to spark joy and invite a sense of wonder.
