I love to re-create interesting objects that have already had a life, into something of artistic value that is both aesthetically pleasing and contemporary. For a few years now, I’ve been creating quirky, original jewellery from antique and vintage watch parts and vintage jewellery, but this year I’m also experimenting with creating assemblage art dolls from treasured objects I’ve had in my stash for many years now…such fun! Many of the objects I am using have passed through the lives of my parents and grandparents and the historical narrative of these broken and discarded objects explores our connection to family and how the past influences who we are today.
