Robyn Jacob

I am a self taught, Mixed Media Mosaic Artist working from my studio in Urenui, using recycled materials whenever I can. My artwork is based on instinctive feelings of design, proportion, lots of colour, symmetry, style and balance rather than the formal constraints of traditional mosaics. When I exhibit my mosaic artwork, people of all ages are surprised and fascinated by my pieces. These people tell me what they see, memories they have and ask how do I create these. They also want to touch these pieces and are curious as to the history of some of the tesserae that I have included in these artworks. I love colour, and so, one of my favourite Mosaic Artists is Hap Sakwa, a self taught Mosaic Artist from California who used to create colourful, vivid mosaic works of pop art. I have mosaic pieces in Vanuatu, Wales, England, Australia, America and New Zealand.
