Laura Buchanan

Expressing in an artistic form offers this Libran a balance to her hectic family life.
Laura works from her studio, located at their home on South Taranaki’s Surf Highway 45, creating nature inspired pieces of art and homewares. Laura uses an array of media including pottery, resin, concrete and acrylics. Her work is known under her alter ego ‘Lulu’, a name her mother calls her, referring to her childlike curiosity in creating.
Not happy with an ‘emerging artist’ title, she prefers to be considered an ‘evolving artist’ as her gradually changing artistic journey is a result of natural selection.
‘Lulu’ has evolved from a hobby, into a fulltime commitment to creating artwork.
