Jacqueline Elley

Influenced by our coastal locale, I seek to make art that reflects upon our connection to our environment. Through a diverse art practice of drawings, paintings and light boxes I explore the physical and metophorical embodiment of light and water.

I use paint to create an illusion of a "body" of water by building successive paint layers of glazes where splatters and colour transitions are embedded with luminous effect.

Light boxes take a direct interactive appoach with light, using light sensitive materials to diffuse or condense light and in some cases "illuminate" environmental concerns.

Located in the CBD my studio is at Manifold Coworking and Event space, next to DEcanta BAr. It is upstairs and has no wheelchair access.

Studio open by appointment outside of the Trail.
