The Gables Gallery is the home of the North Taranaki Art Society and is situated in the very picturesque Brooklands Park and the stunningly beautiful Pukekura Park. The Gallery is adjacent to the Brooklands Zoo and the Bowl of Brooklands, recognised as one of New Zealand's finest outdoor concert venues. There is plenty of parking and the Gallery has accessible entry at the rear. The Gables Gallery is a category one building listed with Heritage New Zealand and is a major drawcard in its own right as it was one of four colonial hospitals Governor George Grey commissioned in the late 1840s. Make sure you bring your camera for this one. Here you will be assured of a warm welcome from the working artists as you walk through New Zealand’s rich history and admire the art exhibition or just take the weight off your feet for a chat.
